Bottle Feeding Tips
Ensure you have plenty of bottles, you don't want to find yourself with a crying, hungry baby and be needing to wash and steralise bottles/teats etc! We use & recommend Life Factory Glass Bottles.
Glass Bottles are preferred over plastic bottles due to some plastic bottles containing BPA's. You can read more about Glass vs Plastic here. As a general rule, newborn baby's will go through 8-10 bottles per day. Its a good idea to set times of the day for washing/steralising and stick to them so you don't get into the above situation. 8am & 8pm for example may be a time when baby is asleep, or you have someone to give you a hand. Grab a Newbies Feeding Journal during Pregnancy. It will be your life saver in those first few weeks/months. You'll have a space to record feed times, amounts, information about baby's nappy, sleep etc. It's great to look back on as baby grows (and if you have another child later). There are plenty of people around who have particular opinions on how other Mothers should feed their children. Don't listen to them! What matters is you and your baby - and what is right for you. |
